For years, I had wondered about the artist that had painted the beautiful landscape that three generations of my family have enjoyed over the years. I was so pleased when my son found your grandmother's web site. My grandfather purchased the painting from your grandmother somewhere in the mid to late 40's. The price tag is still on the back (price $85.00). It hung in my grandfather's hunting and fishing lodge until he sold the lodge. From there it adorned my grandparent's home, then my parents home, and now my home. This oil painting has become a valued family treasure that holds many special memories. This is your grandmother's legacy. The painting size is 36" x 24", not including the original 3" wide, deep gold frame. It is signed Elizabeth Hubbell. My grandfather told us that it was a painting of the Rogue River in Oregon. (I don't know how accurate that is though). Sincerely, Ann Smith |
